Transforming classic maps for a modern audience with new levels.

Toys for Bob sought to reimagine their iconic title, Spyro the Dragon, in Unreal Engine, requiring a full-scale update of the original game maps with only limited supporting concepts. The goal was to transform these maps into fully realized, updated levels that could meet the expectations of a modern audience while adhering to production deadlines and quality standards.

This team was tasked with creating Unreal Engine levels from the original game maps, using a well-defined production pipeline to streamline the process. The solution included pre-production planning, asset creation, and map building, allowing the Toys for Bob team to focus on higher-level tasks rather than managing intricate details.

The team developed proxy models and built out the entire map for gameplay verification before full-scale production began. This allowed Toys for Bob to focus on overseeing a complete and functional map, while Lakshya handled the detailed work of 3D asset creation and level management. With over 25 artists working across studios in India and the US, Lakshya effectively managed tight turnaround times and supported the client in meeting their production milestones.
